Aston Villa won comfortably against Sunderland

Barry and Carew
It was also the third time this season that Villa have come from behind to win, although Sunderland made martyrs of themselves. It was two unnecessary free-kicks that ultimately cost the visitors the game and their unbeaten away record.
The game started off with Sunderland having a great start. They got the first goal in just 10 minutes with Cisse scoring one. But soon they got goals from the legs of Carew and Young. The score after first half was 1 - 2 and it remained as it is in the second half.
‘The first goal was very sloppy and the second one, decent possession and we gave it away. It’s disappointing because if they’d opened us up and scored some good goals then you’d hold your hand up,’ said a glum Roy Keane.
The second half was delayed by 10 minutes when the assistant referee was injured and the hold-up encouraged a bout of lethargy from both teams. Yes, there were long-range strikes from Liam Miller, Andy Reid and Gabriel Agbonlahor that caused the goalkeepers some angst, but nothing to set the pulses racing.
