EPL Post Match Review

No doubt it was a great a great Saturday where seven matches kicked off and out of 14 teams that played on Saturday, 10 teams scored goals. It was a great week for the EPL lovers. Seven matches were played on Saturday and 22 goal were scored.


Birmingham 3 - 1 Man City
It was a rather unexpected result for each and everyone. Man City were in great form at the start of the season, but now it is looking as if they are loosing their form.They have not won any game in their last six appearances in EPL. This is a big setback for them. There was a time when it was looking as if Man. City is going to qualify for the UEFA cup. But now it looks very difficult for them. For Birmingham, it was a great game for them. they took the advantage at the 40th minute when Mauro Zarate scored for them It was 1-0 at half time. But after half time they doubled their lead in 54th minute and again the goal scorer was Mauro Zarate. It was looking as if Man City have almost lost the game. But in 59th minute Elano showed a small chance of coming back into the game when he scored a goal from penalty. The score was 2-1. But there hopes vanished in 77th minute when McSheffry got the goal through penalty. The game ended at the scores 3-1.


Bolton 2 - 3 Arsenal
A great match whose result was decided at the very last moment of the game. Bolton got the lead very early in the game. Arsenal were 1-0 down and after that Diaby got red carded. It was a great setback for the away team. Moreover, they got one more goal on the first half. Matthew Taylor scored the first two goals for Bolton. The score after the first half was 2-0. Arsenal were down to 10 men and were loosing the game by 2-0. But who expected to come back into the game from that position. They got three goals in the second half and almost surprised everyone with a great win. For Arsenal,Gallas and Van Persie.



Derby 2 - 2 Fulham
This was a match between two teams from the relegation zone. It was ended in a draw. The score was 2-2. Derby got the initial lead in the game when Villa scored for them in the 10th minute. They were lloking in a good touch. But soon Fulham stike back in the 24th minute when Kamara scored for them Thereafter there were many chances in the first half but no one could convert them into a goal. The score after the first half was 1-1. Second half was also looking a bit boring but in the 78th minute Fulham got a goal.The goal was an own goal by Leacock. It was looking as if Derby is going to loose the game after a good start. But they got a goal in the 80th minute from Villa. The score at that time was 2-2. The score remained as 2-2 till the end and the match ended in a draw.


Portsmouth 2 - 0 Wigan
It was an expected result from Portsmouth. They are in very good form since the start of the season. It was Defoe who scored the two goals for them, one in each half. The game did not have much chances. But it was Defoe who was the lone goal scorer in the match. He got goals in 32nd and 90th minute. With this win they move to 6th position in the League table.


Reading 0 - 0 Blackburn
It was a game where eight yellow cards and a red card was shown. No one got any good chances to score the goals.Eight yellow cards were shown in the match and a red card was also shown by the referee. The players who got yellow cards included Ryan Nelsen, Zurab Khizanishvili, Stephen Warnock, Steven Reid, Jason Roberts, Nicky Shorey, Marcus Hahnemann while Marek Matejovsky got red carded. No one could score any goal hence the score remained at 0-0.


Sunderland 2 - 1 West Ham
It was a good win for Sunderland. They have shown something in this league.They have shown good responses in EPL. It was a very good win for them. Now they have won the last two games and are gaining in confidence. It was West Ham who scored the initial goal of the match in 18th minute. But Jones scored the equalizer for them in the 29th minute. The score remained at 1-1 at the end of the first half. But it was sunderland who got their second goal in the 90th minute. Andy Reid was the last minute scorer for them and the score ended at 2 - 1.



Man Utd 4 - 0 Aston Villa
It was a great match for Manchester United who are already at the top of the league table. From now onwards each and every win is important for them. They won the match by four goals to nil. They looked dominant right from the start of the match. Ronaldo got his first goal in 17th minute. Soon They doubled their lead when Tevez scored in the 33rd minute. The score at half time was 2 -0 . They scored two more goals in the second half of the match. Rooney scored both goals in the second half and they won the game 4 - 0 .
