Tottenham 4-0 Liverpool

Tottenham were unstoppable against 9 men Liverpool and thrashed them 4-0 to move up to 11th spot. Although they had a comparatively bad start to the season but this performance must boost up their confidence.
Tottenham played some exquisite passing game that Liverpool had no chance to do anything throughout the game. With the center of the field controlled very much by Modric and Bale, Adebayor could get his name twice on the score sheet by the end of the 90th minute.
Modric gave them an early edge scoring off in just 7th minute . But it was a second yellow for Charlie Adams which I think was the turning point in the game.
Tottenham were down to 10 men and a goal down. A situation from where it was almost immpossible to recover.
But the situation got even worsened when skrtel was sent to make Liverpool down to 9 men. After that it opened so many spaces for Tottenham to get down to the goals.
First it was Defoe and then two strikes from Adebayor which finally made the score look so bad for Liverpool.
Even Daglish was smiling on this frustration after the end of 90th minute.
Tottenham now have proved that they still have quality to be in top 4 this season and this win will surely overshadow their loss to both the Manchester Clubs in August.

Man United Thrash Chelsea to continue on their thrill run

Manchester United continue on their dream and unbeaten run in Premier League when they thrash Chelsea for 3-1 in an exciting clash at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are now two points clear to their Rivals Man City who were forced to share a point a piece by Fulham in an early game.
Manchester United started off the game on the positive note when Smalling gave them the 8th minute lead from a Set Piece. It was Young's delivery on the far post which founded Smalling's free header towards the back of the net.
Chelsea tried to fight back, tried so much , created so many chances but they were not able to find the strike which could make them equal to the Champions. They deeply missed a quality stiker. Ramires got a one-on-one chance with De Gea, but he could not convert the chance and it was wasted. But Manchester United were in a devastating mood. It was a clean strike from Nani just outside the 30 yard box for which Peter Cech had no answer. The score became 2-0 and Chelsea were struggling.
Just before the half time Rooney made it 3-0 with an easy strike inside the penalty spot. At half time the game was full finished and the scoreline was 3-0.
Chelsea started off the second half on a high note scoring a crucial goal within 40 secs of the game. It was a ray of hope for them. The game started to heat up and suddenly Chelsea were coming to their mood. They created so many chances, but missed all. Torres had a one-on-one situation where he beat the keeper as well, but still could not convert it to the back of the net in an open goal post.
Nani strike once again outside the box, but unfortunately it hit the post and after the rebound they got a penalty which Rooney missed completely after getting slipped during the penalty.
After this game Manchester United have 15 points in 5 games and are now clear two points against Manchester City who are on 13 points

Arsenal Lost after Yakubu's thrill

It was a question raised by the Venky's Blackburn for Arsene Wenger that do they still think that they are a Quality Lineup.
Their defense was all scattered and messed up when Blackburn kissed the net for four times in 90 minutes and taking away three valuable points.
Two of those 4 goals were own goals. Although Arsenal looked good towards the end, but it was too late.
After the first half Arsenal were leading the game by 2 goals to 1. The two newcomers: Gervinho and Arteta scoring for Arsenal. But In the second half they conceded three goals and were down to 4-2 in 80 minutes.
It was almost over for Arsenal when the substitue Chamakh scored and gave a ray of hope for Arsenal.
Robinson made a crucial save in the final minutes to get his team 3 points.
For Blackburn, it was Yakubu scoring two goals and the rest two goals were own goal scored by Song and Koscielny.
With this loss, Arsenal continue their miserable run and have managed to win just a single match out of 5 games and with this famous win, Blackburn move above Arsenal in the League Table with 4 points in 5 games.

Torres finally off the mark

Fernando Torres has finally scored his first goal for the Men in Blue in his 12th appearance for the club as Chelsea secured a 3-0 win over West Ham United and make their chances to win the title brighter.
Earlier in the evening, Manchester United won with a late goal from Hernandez, against Everton to have a 6 points clear lead against Chelsea.
Frank Lampard had given the Defending Champions a 44th minute lead which Torres doubled after coming in as a substitute and Malouda ompleted the win in the stoppage time winning them three valuable points and making the league still open.
Manchester might be having six points lead but they have yet to play Arsenal and Chelsea in the coming two game weeks. So it all depends on the coming two gameweeks as to who will win the title.
According the Ferguson, He says," we can win the title in the next two gameweeks after beating both Arsenal and Chelsea." Ferguson said," we have done it before and we can do it again."
"Manchester United have won last two games that they have played at Emirates and we can do it again."

Wenger thinks Arsenal can still win EPL

Looking at the current league table Manchester United are the current favorites with 6 points clear of Chelsea and Arsenal at the moment. But Arsene Wenger has some other thinking. He still thinks that if Arsenal can win all of their remaining games, they still can win the Title.
Arsenals were top of the table once in this EPL season, but Arsenal' manager Arsene Wenger blames Defenders for not making it as bad as hey are now at third position. He said ,"Its the defenders to be blamed for not being at the top of the table, but we can still manage to win the title if we can win all of our remaining games" in an interview.

Tough Decisions to make: Alex Ferguson

Alex ferguson says he has to make some tough decisions in the upcoming transfer window as far as transfers are concerned. They are the current leaders and will probably end the season as winners of this EPL, However, the next season can be a tougher one for them. With Gary Neville already retired and Edwin Van Der Saar Already declared that this is his last season for Manchester United, and there are heavy chances of Paul Scholes following the two legends too.
Michael Owen, who has only made 12 appearances this season and Owen Hargreaves, who has played a total of five minutes in the last 12 months, are both out of contract at the end of the season, and it would take a very brave person to think that either one of them will be at Old Trafford next season. However this season belonged to Chicharito Hernandez, who has really impressed by his footballing skills. And other than him it was Berbatov who has done brilliantly well during the second half of the season.
Other than this Wes Brown and Gibson can also make their way for some fresh faces in United especially after the incident between Brown and Ferguson. Brown, who has been with Manchester United from last 15 years, has just made 15 Appearances this season and may well make his way out of the club.
Whatever happens, it would be very tough time for sir Alex Ferguson to make during this transfer window.

Arsenal are holded by Tottenham at 3-3

It was an awesome turnaround in crunch Derbie between Arsenal and Tottenham where Tottenham once again showed their class performance and earn a valuable point against Arsenal and make a strong hold for the chances to be in top 4. They are now just 2 points behind Manchester City with just 6 games to go.
It was a game with superb attacking skills from both the teams but lacked in defense. Both clubs once again showed their class in the attacking game but had some sloppy time defending.
The game was full of events where both teams were on the charge from the first minute. Walcott was the first one to get on to the back of the net with his right footer, but it was equalized by Van Der Vaart just after 2 minutes.
However it was not too long when Nasri again made Arsnaol ahead. His goal came in 12th minute and with Van Persie on the scoring sheet at 40th minute of the game, it looked all clear for Arsenal leading at 3-1. But just before the halftime A long range shot from Huddlestone made the back door entrance for Tottenham with 3-2 at half time.
After Halftime it was all Tottenham's game, and with a 70th minute penalty taken by Van Der Vaart, it was once again all square which finally ended in a 3-3 draw with boths teams having to share the points.
Tottenham must be quite happy with the result they have got especially knowing the fact that they wee playing at Emirates Stadium. However,Arsenal would certainly not like it. If they are to win trophies again, they will have to discover a way of being more forceful.

As has so often been the case with Arsène Wenger’s sides of recent years, the Gunners squandered numerous opportunities. Adebayor was the most culpable of all after racing clear of the Baggies defence, only to curl the ball wide of both Carson and goal.

West Brom clung on to the coat-tails of their hosts for most of the match but they were unfortunate not to draw level five minutes after the restart, when the lively Ishmael Miller escaped Johan Djourou before forcing Almunia into a fine reflex save at his near post. Djourou made amends by clearing the rebound off the line.

Arsenal surged forward at will throughout the second period but continued to lack the finish to their fine approach play. Emmanuel Eboue tried his luck three times, only to find his aim badly awry, while the introduction of Robin van Persie, who had two attempts on goal, caused Mowbray’s men problems, with his deft touch and clever movement. However, while a victory will please Wenger, his side’s continued bluntness in front of goal will most worry him.

West Ham United have accepted a bid of about £14m from Manchester City for their Wales international striker Craig Bellamy who is believed to be travelling to Eastlands for a medical. Bellamy, 29, asked for a transfer to Spurs on Friday but West Ham were unwilling to sell to local rivals and have been angered about the publicity that preceded Tottenham's formal approach.

Bellamy was left out of the West Ham squad that defeated Fulham yesterday when, Gianfranco Zola said, the player was "not in the right frame of mind" to play.

Manchester City has reportedly raised their bid for Kaka to £243 million in the hopes of securing the Brazilian attacking midfielder from AC Milan, according to The Sun newspaper.

The £243 million deal breaks down to:

£108 million for AC Milan.
£108 million for the superstar’s wages including taxes. Kaka will be paid a NET salary of £13.28m a year which breaks down to £255,000 a week take-home.
£27m in commission to brokers, middle-men and signing-on fees.

If AC Milan and Kaka can agree terms with Manchester City, the £13.28 million annual net salary will be close to Alex Rodriguez’s salary. The New York Yankees third baseman is paid £18.96 million gross per year.

The aggressive pursuit of Kaka by Manchester City owners Abu Dhabi United Group is sure to raise concerns at UEFA and FIFA headquarters. In the next few days expect Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini to publicly scorn the move by Manchester City, and how they’ll lament that City are ruining the game.

It seems that the only person who can stop Kaka from joining Manchester City is Kaka himself after AC Milan have given permission for Manchester City to speak with one of the world’s top footballers.

Blackburn Rejects Man City offer for Santa Cruz

Blackburn have rejected a bid "significantly higher than £12m" from Manchester City for Roque Santa Cruz, according to Mark Hughes.

The Manchester City manager is keen to add some firepower to his squad, with the club just two points above the relegation zone, but Blackburn are desperate to hang on to the former Bayern Munich striker — who has scored three goals in 13 games this season, but scored 19 for Rovers in 2007-08.

Rovers released a brief statement on their official website: "Blackburn Rovers can confirm receiving a bid from Manchester City for striker Roque Santa Cruz. The bid has been rejected."

Manchester United are facing the real prospect of losing Carlos Tévez in this transfer window as the Red Devils continue to dither over his price tag.

The Argentine striker is three quarters of the way through a two year loan deal at Old Trafford, and yet still no permanent contract has been put on the table.

It was initially hoped that a deal would be sealed last summer, but Sir Alex Ferguson's decision to buy Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham scuppered those plans.

The Sun claims that both Real Madrid and Inter Milan are ready to make their move for Tévez at the end of the season.

United pre-agreed a fee of around £32 million with Kia Joorabchian, owner of Media Sports Investment which owns Tévez's rights, but now the club are reportedly uncomfortable with that valuation.

And now that the 24-year-old is unhappy at having to play second fiddle to Berbatov, there is a very real possibility that he could leave United once his loan expires.

There are a total of 20 goals that have been scored on Saturday and still Super Sunday to go. This is a week where everything happened. Lots of action took place, goals, cards everything that you an expect when you are watching EPL.

Middlesbrough

Arsenal

As already expected this was a game where anything could have happened. Two most unexpected teams of EPL took on each other and went on to play a draw that could have turned either way. Both the teams had great chances to score after going on to 1-1 but no one could take the lead and the match ended in a draw.Arsenal could have scored the winning goal in the last minutes but they were unable to do so and the game ended in a draw.

Aston Villa

4 - 2

Bolton

This was a game which was completely dominated by Aston Villa. They also conceded two goals but thy were in full control of the game. They never looked like loosing this game. In the first half itself they were leading the game by 2-1. And the final score was 4-2. After this win Aston Villa are back to fourth position knocking out Arsenal from the to four. Out of four goals, two were scored by their best forward- Agbonlahor. Other goals were scored by Ashley Young and one was an own goal from Davies.

Liverpool

Hull City

Hull Showed great skills and could have won against the league leaders. They were at one time leading the game by 2-0. But it was Gerrard who rescued Liverpool from the jail and put them back into their good position. Gerrard got both the goals for Liverpool and got a crucial point for their side. Paul McShane was the only goal scorer for Hull while Jamie Carragher scored an own goal.

Man City

Everton

Tim Cahill scored his third goal of the season and rescued his team from danger. It was the last minute goal from Cahill which earned his team a full quota of 3 points. Otherwise they would have to share one point each. It was a game which could have gone either way. There were not many chances for either team to score but Everton were able to convert one from the last minute corner and go three important points.

Stoke City

Fulham

This was the most boring game of the evening. It was a game where there were no goals no action. The game ended in a goalless draw and teams shared one point each. Stoke have been failed to impress so far and they were unable to do o this evening a well. On the other hand Fulham got one or two chances where they could have scored. They have been in a great form so would have wanted to continue their form. But in the end they had to satisfy for a draw and share one point each.

Sunderland

West Brom

Sunderland gave a see off gift to their former manager Kaene. They were superb in their game against West Brom. They won the game by 4-0 which they even themselves would not have predicted before the game. Jones was absolutely superb in the game scoring two goals while the other goals were scored by Andy Reid and Djibril Cisse(pen). West Brom were in the relegation zone and after this loss it seems that it is very difficult for them to survive the season.

Wigan

Blackburn

Again this was a game between two teams from the bottom half of the table and out of which one was in the relegation zone and the result is the same. Wigan thrashed Blackburn by 3-0. The game was quite even but Wigan were able to convert their shots into goals while Blackburn were not able to do so. Overall Blacckburn hit more shots than Wigan but still they lost the game by 3-0. Emile Heskey, Antonio Valencia, Lee Cattermole booked their names on the score sheet.

Tottenham

Man Utd

This was the most awaited goal of the evening where Tottenham faced Manchester United. The game which was expected to be the game of the week but it ended it disappointment as it ended in a goalless draw. There were lots and lots of chances for Man Utd to score a goal and get three points but they were unable to ut the ball behind the nets. Tottenham also got some chances to score a goal but they were also unable to do so. And it was a goalless draw for them nevertheless.

They got their third just two minutes later when Bridge's raking ball was beautifully cushioned by the impressive Malouda into the path of Kalou, whose sidefooted shot deflected off Wheater and and past Turnbull in the Middlesbrough goal.

The game was over at this stage, but Chelsea were in no mood to let up. Lampard got in on the act in the 63rd minute, when he found himself unmarked at the back post to head home a Kalou cross, and when Turnbull spilled a Nicolas Anelka shot onto the post four minutes later Malouda was on hand to scramble in the rebound.

To say that it was like a training ground match from that moment on would do injustice to Chelsea's training sessions. By the end they were barely celebrating their goals while Gareth Southgate and Middlesbrough were just glad it was all over.

Sunderland did not had their dream start but they are happy with the position. For me the game will start with a first goal from Sunderland but son Wigan will overcome that deficit and will win the game by 2-1. Predictions are Wigan 2 - 1 Sunderland.

Man City v Chelsea:-This is the match that is going to be very very exciting. Manchester city have just signed the player that Chelsea were looking for during the season transfers. Brazilian Star Robinho joins Manchester City while Berbatov joins Mancheter United

I am really looking forward to introducing him to the rest of the squad and to the City fans. This is a real statement of intent as to the ambitions of Manchester City."

The transfer represents a major disappointment for Chelsea and their manager Luiz Felipe Scolari, who had identified Robinho as his principal target, and the player had gone so far as to give a bizarre press briefing in Madrid on Sunday declaring his wish to move to Stamford Bridge.

"We decided that the best thing was for him to leave," said Real's president Ramón Calderón last night. "He has an emotional problem that is worse than we thought. Every time I have spoken to him he has cried; he wanted to leave. It was best for him to walk away for footballing and personal reasons. [Bernd] Schuster [the coach] agrees with the sale. We have sold him for an important amount of money."

Indeed the lesson of the past 24 hours is that the Premier League has a new big hitter. "I just wish we could have done it [the takeover] earlier to give us more time to spend but unfortunately I was on vacation travelling across Europe when the proposition reached me," said Al Fahim. "Thierry Henry and [Brazil's] Ronaldo can add the confidence and the experience and provide the mix with he younger players. These are the kind of players we are looking for. We have deep pockets."

A day of high-stakes negotiating began with City bidding £34m in a late, ultimately unsuccessful, attempt to hijack United's move for Berbatov. At the same time City made an opening bid of £28.5m for Robinho as well as contacting Valencia to see whether £40m would persuade them to sell David Villa and offering in excess of £10m for another striker, Stuttgart's Mario Gómez. "Dimitar is one of the best and most exciting strikers in world football. His style and ability will give the team a different dimension."

Tottenham earlier completed the £14m signing of Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow, as well as bringing in the £8m defender Vedran Corluka from City. They would rather have sold Berbatov to City and also took a call from Real offering £36m. However, Berbatov made it clear he was interested only in United and Spurs had no option but to reopen talks.

However, it later emerged that Berbatov had met with Ferguson and chief executive David Gill and undergone a medical with United, as the Red Devils attempted to secure a deal before the midnight cut-off point.

Nevertheless, the bid demonstrated City's new financial power on the day that Thaksin Shinawatra sold the club to the Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment (Adug), a company backed by the United Arab Emirates royal family and Dr Sulaiman Al-Fahim, a multi-billionaire who has been described as 'the Donald Trump of Abu Dhabi'. Al-Fahim has also put in bids today for Valencia's David Villa and Stuttgart's Mario Gomez.

"We have bids in for three players," Al-Fahim said. "There is Berbatov, but there is also David Villa and Mario Gomez. We have bids in for Villa and Gomez and I am waiting to hear whether we have been successful with those [offers]. Funds are available, and transfers such as these show we are serious."

The £200m takeover has left City in the ownership of an organisation that has even greater resources than Roman Abramovich at Chelsea, and it has quickly become apparent that huge sums will be made available for Hughes to strengthen the team.

"It's really important we have a good season this year," said Hughes. "There's been a lot of disruption and a lot of negative publicity surrounding the club but I think that's been wiped out in one fell swoop, and now we can move forward in a positive fashion. I am as stunned and excited by this as the fans are."

Al-Fahim, the 16th richest Arab in the world, confirmed that the club would try to recruit the former Brazil international Ronaldo and explore the possibility of signing Thierry Henry from Barcelona in the next transfer window.

Thaksin, who will remain at the club as honorary president without any administrative responsibilities, agreed the takeover on Sunday night after three weeks of negotiations with a company that has previously shown an interest in buying both Arsenal and Newcastle.

"We will release details later, but this is a great event for both the club and Abu Dhabi," said Al-Fahim, the chief executive of Hydra Properties. "Our goal is very simple: to make Manchester City the biggest club in the Premier League, and to begin with to finish in the top four this season."

City confirmed the deal in a statement this morning: "Manchester City can confirm that a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Abu Dhabi United Group (Adug) and Manchester City Football Club Limited," a club statement read. Man United Wins Community Shield 3-1 On Penalties

So, Manchester United has picked up another piece of silverware after beating Portsmouth 3-1 on penalties in the annual curtain raiser to the new season.

The game, which ended 0-0 in regular time, was a bit of a sleeper at times with Man United controlling large portions of the match but unable to score. A main reason for that was Portsmouth’s goalkeeper David James who was stellar between the goalposts for Pompey making several crucial saves. In comparison, Edwin van der Sar was rarely challenged.

Carlos Tevez deservedly was awarded the man of the match award after producing a spirited display on the pitch at Wembley. He was quite the troublemaker in attack for United having one shot brilliantly saved by James, being pulled down in the box — which should have been a penalty, and battling and winning many balls in midfield.

Portsmouth showed glimmers of skill now and again especially in midfield and in defense, but they rarely were able to get the ball to Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch. Pompey’s attack seemed very one dimensional with balls floated in to Crouch, but rarely did the ball reach Crouch and instead was defended well by United’s back four.

The difference between United and Pompey rang true during the penalty kicks. United was calm, cool and collected as they knocked in each of their penalty kicks. In contrast, Portsmouth’s Lassana Diarra, Arnold Mvuemba and Glen Johnson missed all of theirs. If Pompey wants to compete against the big boys, they’ve got a lot of work to do.
